7 Awesome Blacksmithing Christmas Projects

It is that time of the year, a wonderful Christmas time. For some, it means going on a holiday, for others, it means watching Christmas movies all day long. But for blacksmiths, Christmas time is often when we make various creative projects that may serve as a nice gift.

In this article, I decided to give you 7 simple Christmas project ideas:

  1. Christmas Tree Hook
  2. Candy Cane
  3. Holly Leaf
  4. Christmas Tree Bottle Opener
  5. Steel Cross

The good thing about these projects is the fact they are very simple to do and don’t require any special tools. In fact, if you are a beginner blacksmith, completing them will serve you as an excellent way of accelerating your skills.

Now let’s see how to make them.

1. Christmas Tree Hook

Instead of forging a basic J-hook, why not make it more decorative? Since it is Christmas time, you can forge a Christmas tree hook. It is a simple project for both beginners and advanced smiths. The beauty of doing this project is that it won’t take you much time and it doesn’t require any special equipment.

This hook can be used to hang up a stocking, put bags, and many other things. Selling these would be a good idea. Namely, if you can make one in less than 10 minutes and sell it for at least $7-8, you could make around $50 an hour.

Knowing that, why not make a Christmas tree bottle opener? Note that before forging you should cut a metal plate into a Christmas tree shape. You can download any picture of the Christmas tree and cut the material according to it.

After you punched a hole, you can either leave at that point or continue to make some decorations. If you are planning to sell it or give it to someone as a gift, I suggest making that further step. In both cases, after completing this you will have a nice and useful item.
